Bestowal Dialogue

'Now that you have chosen a clan, you must learn how to further strengthen and enhance yourself so that you are more than a distraction against the enemy. Return to the location you arrived and speak with Ashrokil. They will show you the power that corruption can provide.'

'To strengthen your resolve, body, and abilities, you must earn skills and corruptions. In order to unlock the power of the corruptions and skills, you must speak with corruptors who will help you to unlock the deeper potency. As you grow in strength, so too will your access to greater and more malevolent corruptions.

'When you are prepared, speak with Dagalúr/Lingemil/Gruglok. They will teach you more of your abilities, here in the Ettenmoors.'

Some NPCs in the game world have several available roles. They can bestow quests, open shops, give hints, train skills, and any number of other interactions. When you speak with an NPC that has these additional roles, you will need to select the role you want to use from the context menu that opens when you speak with the NPC.

You have already been rewarded some traits that you can apply to your character. It is recommended that you speak with the corruptor and apply these corruptions to your character now.

Optional: Speak with the trainer again if you wish to purchase additional skills and traits.

Background

The Corruptor wants to assist you in gaining strength so you can better survive and then send you on to train a skill.

Objective 1

Dagalúr/Lingemil/Gruglok is your trainer in the Ettenmoors. Speak with them and learn about skills in the Ettenmoors.

Dagalúr: 'Fresh meat for the fray. Looks like you've not seen much battle. Maybe you've not seen any. No matter. My role here is to see that you get some training so that your more than just a pretty stain on the ground.'
The Orc laughs.
'Speak with me again and purchase the skill March!. Then, use the skill to prove that you have learned and know how to enable what you learn.'
Speak with the trainer again and select train skills to purchase the skill March!.
Lingemil: 'All eight legs and yet still no sense. Some spider tells you to spin a web and you just start spinning, hmmm? Well pay attention, and you might just learn something.'
The spider chitters.
'Good, speak with me again and purchase the skill March!. Then, use the skill to prove that you have learned and know how to enable what you learn.'
Speak with the trainer again and select train skills to purchase the skill March!.
Gruglok: 'Were you the runt of your litter? You look small. You look frightened. You should be frightened. Everything here, including the Orcs, the Uruks, the Angmarim, the spiders... they all want to kill you. Except the goblins of Grothum. They want to throw a saddle on you and ride into battle as some abominable, yet terrifying, hybrid.'
The warg growls.
'We're not about to let that happen. Speak with me again and purchase the skill March!. Then, use the skill to prove that you have learned and know how to enable what you learn.'
Speak with the trainer again and select train skills to purchase the skill March!.

Objective 2

  • Purchase and use the skill March!

Dagalúr/Lingemil/Gruglok instructed you to speak with them again and learn the skill March!. Then, you are to use the skill so that Gruglock can see that you understand how to use the new skill you earned.

You used the skill March!

Objective 3

  • Speak with Dagalúr/Lingemil/Gruglok

You successfully enabled the skill March!. Speak with Dagalúr/Lingemil/Gruglok again to learn more.

Dagalúr/Lingemil/Gruglok: 'There is hope for you, yet.'
The Orc/spider/warg chuckles/chitters/snarls.
'While using March!, you can speak with allies and interact with items in the world. However, you cannot use any of your other abilities to fight against the foe while you are marching, so best to be quick to stop marching when it comes time to fight!
'Use the skill now, then visit the vendor Nâdar near the front gate to learn more.'
Dagalúr/Lingemil/Gruglok instructs you to visit the vendor Nâdar

Objective 4

You have learned to strengthen yourself and to move swiftly. Dagalúr/Lingemil/Gruglok directed you to a vendor near the gate. Curious. Seek out the vendor Nâdar and speak with them.

Nâdar: 'A new recruit? Well then, let's get you outfitted and prepared for battle.'
The Orc seems all too pleased with his position.
'Once you start fighting and earning your keep in the Ettenmoors, I'll take commendations in exchange for my goods. You earn commendations for doing the work that no one else wants to do and slaughtering the Free Folk! Ha!'
In Monster Play, completing quests and defeating Free People players awards commendations and gold. Commendations allow the purchase of not only skills, but also potions, food, and other items that provide short-term enhancements or immediate effects for your character.
'Here, take this. Standard issue goods for all new recruits. Go on now. Open that up and see what I gives you!'
