You must attain The Trial of Death reputation level with the Reclamation of Minas Ithil in order to get this quest. Each rally point is marked by a Stone of Death: Coordinates Directions / Description [64.7S, 1.5W] Just East of Estolad Lan. [65.3S, 0.8E] Minas Morgul camp site. [62.5S, 1.4E] Just West of The Winding Stair. [64.3S, 4.6E] Just East of Echad Uial. [69.9S, 7.4E] Respawn circle on road to Thuringwath where road changes direction from SE to East. Thargaun can be found at [71.6S, 7.7E] on the upper level. His avatar Thargaun the Doom-bringer has to be defeated. Completing this quest satisfies one of the objectives of The Reclamation of Minas Ithil deed.

Bestowal Dialogue 'Our scholars have shared with me the final texts they were able to decipher. It would seem there are only five artifacts which we seek to destroy. You have done well in destroying the first four, <name>. I am sure that you will be victorious in this final task. 'The final artifact rest upon an altar in the Circle of Death. Quickly now, we must get to it before anyone else.' Background For those reclaiming Minas Ithil from the grasp of darkness, a trial of death has begun. Objective 1 Enter the Altar of Death. The Altar of Death can be found in the Circle of Death in Minas Morgul. You should enter the Altar of Despair. There was a recent conflict here. The artifact is missing! Objective 2 Examine the conflict around the altar. The Altar of Despair can be found in the Circle of Despair in Minas Morgul. You should examine the conflict around the altar. A vision of the conflict is revealed. Thargaun says, "I have been bound to this Vale too long. The time has come to leave my master's domain." Thargaun says, "Soon, I shall no longer be bound by defeat, and my armies shall march across Mordor!" Objective 3 Examine the altar. The Altar of Death can be found in the Circle of Death in Minas Morgul. You should examine the altar. If Thargaun is bound to the Vale in defeat, perhaps defeat itself prevents him from leaving Objective 4 Seek out the rally points of the Morgul Vale. Rally points can be found throughout the Morgul Vale. You should seek out each rally point within the bounds of the Morgul Vale. Objective 5 Seek out Thargaun at Ufurok. Thargaun can be found at Uforok in Thuringwath. You should seek out Thargaun there. Thargaun can be heard chanting atop the structure of Ufurok Objective 6 Defeat foes at Ufurok (0/8). Ufurok can be found in Thuringwath. You should defeat foes at Ufurok so that your confrontation with Thargaun will be met with fewer surprises. Objective 7 Confront Thargaun. Thargaun can be found at Uforok in Thuringwath. You should confront Thargaun there. Thargaun: 'You have been nothing but trouble for me, <race>. No matter! Soon I shall have a servant and a proper body to leave this Vale and lead the dead to conquer Mordor! You are too late this time!' Objective 8 Trap Thargaun with the stones of defeat! Thargaun can be found at Ufurok in Thuringwath. You should trap Thargaun. Thargaun says, "What have you done?! I can not move!" Objective 9 Stop Thargaun's ritual. Thargaun's ritual can be found at Ufurok in Thuringwath. You should stop Thargaun's ritual. You are too late. The corpse rises out of the flame (Thargaun the Doom-bringer rises) The corpse falls as Thargaun watches on in anger Objective 10 Destroy the Orb of Death. The Orb of Death be found at Ufurok in Thuringwath. You should destroy the Orb of Death. Thargaun howls as he disintegrates along with the artifact Objective 11 Talk to Thurindol. Thurindol can be found at Echad Uial. You should talk to Thurindol. Thurindol: 'To think that Thargaun was so closely tied to these artifacts. That explains why he could not leave the Vale nor perish. Now that all five artifacts are destroyed, I do not believe we shall ever see Thargaun again. 'We should rejoice on this day <name>! You have torn down the veil of sorcery upon Minas Morgul. Now the evil will surely fade and our reclamation of Minas Ithil will succeed in time. We thank you for your assistance.
