Updating the "Music" Page

Larrydacula, I rejected your proposed change to the "Music" page, not because your observation about most of the information on that page being obsolete is *incorrect*, but I don't think that saying "the rest of this page should be ignored" is really an appropriate way to present that. There are sections of the page, in the area you said should be ignored, that might still be useful, such as the See Also section, the links to videos (although most of those seem to be dead), and the section on Weatherstock (which I know to be still ongoing and thriving).

Generally, if information is obsolete the

{{Obsolete}}

template is used. If the accuracy of information is in question, then the

{{Accuracy}}

template can also be used, and then the

{{Confirm}}

template can be used selectively for the items of info that need checking/confirmation/correction. The page then shows "[confirmation needed]" on those items, and provides links in the "Accuracy" boilerplate, to the items. Lastly, if a page needs a major overhaul -- and it seems like this one might -- a

{{Construction}}

template can be used at the top, and this also identifies which Wiki editor is working on redoing the page, so that any other wiki editors can coordinate with that person.

I think judicious use of templates such as these might make a better transition of the page to a more up-to-date, usable state, than just an admonition to ignore big chunks of it.

Let me know your thoughts. Although I haven't used the music system of LOTRO, I'd be willing to work with you on updating the page. I'm sure other Wiki editors would too. If you're on the lotro-wiki Discord, perhaps we could have an open conversation about the project.

P.S. I had to put those template names in

<pre>

tags in order for them not to be expanded automatically. So it looks a little weird, but not as weird as if parts of this Talk page were marked as Obsolete, inaccurate, or under construction :-)

As a tip: When editing, at the bottom of the window there is a 'toolkit' with lots of buttons meant for quick/easy insertion of various formatting, that you can just click on. One of them is the "<code><nowiki>< /nowiki>< /code>" one (which I just used to 'wrap itself' in, but had to add spaces so as not to close it early :P), which works even better than the pre-tag for such purposes – since it will keep the contents in-line as opposed to in a separate textbox. Just something that might be good to know! :)
