The Sea of Ringil was a giant inland sea which was all that was left of the southernmost of the Two Lamps, Ormal.
The fate of the Sea of Ringil is not well understood, but it was was said to grow immensely in size by the War of the Gods and the War of Wrath. It appears to separate Middle-earth in two halves somewhere south of Harad.
