Bestowal dialogue

'You guessed it: there is no possible way I'm setting foot to ground in the Withered Heath! Cold-drakes, blizzards, freezing temperatures? No, thank you; this Dwarf will stay in the quiet and relative safety of Skarháld.

'You on the other hand have proven time and time again that you don't run from danger or impossible odds! Could you do this one last thing for me?'

Warning: This quest has a one hour time limit. The timer will begin upon accepting the quest.

Background

The Withered Heath is a barren, burned plain that lies between the two eastern alms of the Ered Mithrin, and was home to many great dragons. Cold-drakes emerged from the Anvil's crack blackening the skies with their wings and the stones with their breath.

Objective 1

Defeat Jókull on the Withered Heath

Stráhek the Stout: 'I hesitate to ask you to hurry. . . but could you? Make sure to bundle up!'

Instance: Storm on the Withered Heath "The barren, burnt expanse of the Withered Heath is deceptive in appearing empty. After centuries untouched by dwarves, it is rich in resources, history, and peril."

The snarling of drakes cuts through the frigid wind and snow, portending a treacherous journey through the Withered Heath.
The cold and snow continue to intensify.
The winds swirl as the snow pelts the ground with great rancour, as a massive ice cliff-wall loom in the distance.
Frost grims guard the glacier!
Now that the frost grims have been defeated, the glacier can be scaled.
The glacier begins to rumble.

Defeated Jókull

Objective 2

  • Talk to Stráhek the Stout

You should return to Stráhek the Stout in Skarháld and let him know of your success on the Withered Heath.

Stráhek the Stout: 'I commend you for your bravery, <name>. The cold-drakes have been weakened greatly... for now.'
