Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue

'If we want the Rangers' help, we'll have to tell them why the wizard's spies have come. I'll need you by my side for this; if I go alone, they'll see me as a Dunlending and nothing else. But if they see you as well, they might be more convinced of my peaceful intentions.

'I'll go on ahead. I'll be waiting for you on this side of the river, outside Tornhad.

'Should something happen to me, tell Erlys and don't worry. Like I said, my people are strong, and so am I. I've suffered much worse.'

Background

Cariad has decided to take matters into his own hands.

Objective 1

Find Cariad outside Tornhad

Cariad will be waiting for you outside of Tornhad, south of the river.

You should meet up with him.

Before you can enter Tornhad, a familiar voice calls out to you

Objective 2

Talk to Lagordal

It seems Cariad has not escaped the sharp eyes of the Rangers.

You should talk to Lagordal outside Tornhad.

Lagordal: 'Halt. <name>, what is the meaning of this? Why does this Dunlending claim to know you?'

You explain the circumstances that have led to this point.

'Has it not occurred to you that these people have tried to manipulate you? They and the rest of their kin have fallen to the lies of Saruman. Now they run amok in the Angle! I am sorry; you must have meant well, but I cannot trust this man. Leave him here, so that I may question him.'

Objective 3

Talk to Erlys

With Cariad captured, the next thing to do would be to notify Erlys.

She can be found in the Cuan-lûth Refuge, to the north of Tornhad.

Erlys: 'The arrogance of these Rangers knows no bounds!'
