Bestowal dialogue

Hobbits: 'So, <name>, ye are the one what brought us the marvelous smoking weed? Ye clearly honour the art of gardening and know many secrets, but perhaps not every secret?

'My mothers from many generations have passed down a secret for protecting gardens from the small pests who like to defile them: marigolds. Aye, ye heard aright. Marigolds. Pests can't stand the smell of them.

'Might ye go out and gather me some marigolds? I need some to plant around my garden. In fact, would you do the honour of planting them as well?'

Other races: 'So, Duvodiad, ye are the spirit/giant which Rhus has befriended? I'm not so sure I trust ye. Do ye honour the art of gardening? If ye do, then we may be friends ourselves.

'My mothers from many generations have passed down a secret for protecting gardens from the small pests who like to defile them: marigolds. Aye, ye heard aright. Marigolds. Pests can't stand the smell of them.

'Go out and gather me some marigolds, if you would...I need some to plant around my garden. For that matter, ye could do with some honest labour: you can plant them here, as well.'

Background

Violed Isbrun is a good friend of Maur Tulhau's most respected farmer, Iago Glennudh. She is well-known for her knowledge of ways to protect gardens from pests.

Objective 1

Marigolds can be found throughout the Gloomglens.

Violed Isbrun has asked you to gather marigolds for her. She uses the flowers to defend her garden against small pests.

Violed Isbrun: 'I'm not sure what causes the vermin to avoid marigolds, but I am supposing it's the smell.'

Objective 2

  • Plant marigolds (0/10)

Violed Isbrun's garden is in Maur Tulhau.

You should bring the marigolds you collected back to Violed's garden and plant them.

Violed Isbrun: 'I'm not sure what causes the vermin to avoid marigolds, but I am supposing it's the smell.'

Objective 3

Violed Isbrun is in Maur Tulhau.

You should speak with Violed Isbrun again and let her know that you have done as she asked.

Violed Isbrun: (Hobbits) 'Ye certainly do know something of gardening, <name>...ye have my thanks!'
(Other races): 'Mercy me! It looks like ye knows something about gardening yourself! Well, I should say I'm impressed!'
