Location

Dâgal the Observer is found within the War Steadings of Goblin-town in the Misty Mountains. [20.4S, 5.4E]

The easiest way to get to Dâgal is to take the first right-hand turn you come to almost the entire way to the bottom. The second room has a single guard and a partially hidden tunnel to his right, take that way. In the next room there is a hole in the floor along the right wall, don't fall in. In the fifth room you will see four orcs in front of you in a small camp, turn to the left (the right leads to Narash, Bhoghad's Champion), and follow the tunnels into a small cul-de-sac. Dâgal and several guards are found within this tight space.

Directions from Mountain's Throat:

  • Straight from entrance, down two ramps, up stairs in northwest corner of second room.
  • Follow tunnel, take first right, follow north then west, and turn right. The entrance to the Den of the Northern Army is behind two blogmals.
  • Down stairs, through tunnel to west.
  • Follow ledge north into another tunnel, follow down to west.
  • Left as soon as you exit the tunnel, head east into another tunnel. (If you turn right when exiting, you will find Narash.)
  • Follow tunnel, Dagal is at the northern end.

Additional Information

Sitting forgotten along the left wall, a small tattered pouch can be seen. Inside is Bilbo's shiny button - one of the set making up the deed, Bilbo's Buttons.
