Cadi is a young child of Herne, in Cardolan. She lives with her mother elsewhere in town, but she spends time with Rendal and helps him tend to the trees near his house. Cadi fled into Rendal's house after the passage of the Black Riders. She is joined later by Rendal himself and Watcyn.
