Experience points, commonly known as XP, are the "currency" of advancement in LOTRO. There are two basic types of XP in the game.
- Normal XP (gained through combat and quest completion) advances the combat level of the character. More information on this type of XP and the level system in LOTRO can be found on the Character page.
- Crafting XP (gained by creating with a crafting profession) advances the character's crafting level in that given profession. More information on the crafting system can be found on the Crafting page.
