Computer Crash

Unfortunately, the computer I have been using for the last few years had a critical system failure and crashed in early October, around the 3rd or 4th. It took a few days but I was able to go get a new computer; not a great one, since it was purchased quick and on a budget, but definitely better than the one I had been using. Currently I am without LOTRO, and will be unable to log on the game for a while. :( I hope to be back on LOTRO before the end of October *crosses fingers* but I'm still in the process of trying to restore or repair that old computer, and will need to get a video card for this new computer. This new comp has Windows Vista and DirectX 10, so when I get that video card and install/update LOTRO it should be looking really good.

On a brighter note, I've already pre-ordered the Collector's Edition of Mines of Moria! /cheer --Deyvid 05:01, 18 October 2008 (PDT)

  • Hey we miss you something fierce so hurry back! I too pre-ordered the collector's edition so can't wait til it comes out. Hopefully you come back online before that happens so we can get more wiki done otherwise, it's going to be all play. Anyway, get back up and playing soon! Rogue 09:17, 21 October 2008 (PDT)
  • Well I got LOTRO re-installed and updated (since I'm using 56k dial-up *bleh* it took several days to download the 16,000+ update files). I'm able to log on the game again, but this new computer still doesn't have a video card (hopefully soon) so I have to play with the game settings on Very Low :-( It's playable but gets very choppy and laggy (video lag) at times. I'll be able to resume work on the Shire and other pages, but until I get that video card I won't be able to take in-game screen shots for the time being. I'm hoping to get the video card before Moria comes out *crosses fingers* but have to work it into a tight budget. Even after Moria hits, I'll still work in wiki editing along with finally trying to reach level 50 (currently 47 and about 1/3 the way to 48). --Deyvid 07:24, 4 November 2008 (PST)
