Champion Builds

The following is a personal list and perhaps an effective future list of Champion Class & Legendary Trait Builds.

PvE Builds

These builds are quite useful in instance runs and raids. In terms of Legendary Traits, Controlled Burn is always the most useful legendary to have equipped for damage builds, though the choices will not make a big difference here either way.

Note: For damage builds it is assumed that the fellowship has a tank (Guardian) who is capable of holding on to all of the mobs, allowing the Champion to maximize damage.

Dual-wield Single-target Damage Build

Reasoning: The combination of Deadly, Vicious and Deep Strikes is essential for any damage build. It gives you a greater chance to score critical hits, considerably increased critical damage and a bleed effect on critical that totals for 200 damage over 10 seconds, which adds up. The improvement with Flurry of Blows is key because it means you will need to refresh Flurry less and gain a faster attack speed at the same time. Lastly, Blood-lust will arguably come in more handy for this dual-wield setup than Fervent Rage because Wild Attack uses both weapons while dual-wielding, giving you two chances to score a critical hit.

Two-handed Single-target Damage Build

Reasoning: As with the dual-wielding damage build above, the first four traits are essential. Fervent Rage is chosen instead of Blood-lust for two-handed weapons since Wild Attack only has one chance to score a critical hit instead of two, and the amount that you will be using the ability is reduced due to the slow weapon speed. Filling your entire Fervour bar every minute will definitely add up more here.

Dual-wielding & Two-handed Area-of-Effect Damage Build

Reasoning: The reasons that Stalwart Blade, Eye of the Storm and Winds of the Storm were chosen here are quite clear, as these three traits are essential for any high-level Champion who hopes to maximize area-of-effect damage. As with most other builds, increased attack speed and Flurry duration from Flurry of Blows is quite useful here. Fervent Rage is a better choice than Blood-lust even while dual-wielding because you will usually be using a rotation of Blade-wall and Swift Strike to build Fervour.
