Bestowal dialogue

I stand in awe of your metalsmithing prowess, (your name), and must admit there is little left that I can teach you.

I have heard that Birrungur Blacksteel is a master of the art and may be found at Thorenhad, the camp of the sons of Elrond in the wilderness of the Trollshaws.

Background

Your ability to bend and shape metals to your will astounds those who have not also toiled by the heat of the flames.

Objective 1

When you talk to Birrungur Blacksteel, he will give you a note on the quest requirements as well as a recipe to craft the item he desires you to make.
The Note Reads:
I think you've got it in you to be a master of my trade, but you need to show me your skill before I'll be sure. That's just good dwarf-sense! These notes should tell you everything you need to know about fashioning the Steadfast Helm, but the actual craftsmanship of the piece begins and ends with you. Do not let me down! It took me a while to write these notes, and I would hate to think the time was wasted.
WESTERNESSE-STEEL INGOTS
The practice is nearly forgotten now, but an artisan prospector might still have the skill to refine Westernesse-steel from coal and ingots of dwarf-iron. The helm will need two such ingots of Westernesse-steel, but if you are to make the needed scales for the side of the helm, ask the prospector to refine three more.
WESTERNESSE-SCALES
You will need to heat these three scales and pound them flat, then combine them with an additional dwarf-steel ingot. Repeat this process for the second Westernesse-scale you need.
ANCIENT CROWN
North of the road through the wilderness of the Trollshaws, evil wights stalk the ruins of old Rhudaur. The place is called Nan Tornaeth. One of the evil creatures surely still bears the crown of its host body, and that will form the foundation of the Steadfast Helm. In this way, we take something evil and refashion it for good. It is the metalsmith's way.
Obtain these components and then fashion a steadfast helm for me to judge, and I will declare you a master metalsmith if it passes my inspection!

Objective 2

NOTE: The Ancient Crown drops from random Wights in the Nan Tornaeth portion of Trollshaws.
