'The tale of your excellence in crafting fine leather goods has spread far and wide, [your name], but I have heard of another that might have instruction to give you. Her name is Branda Rumble, and she can be found at Ost Guruth, the Ruin-hold in the Lone-lands.

'If she is half as skilled as her reputation would have me believe, she will indeed have much to teach you.'

'Ah, a young and inexperienced tailor! Tales of my great skill and bravery have drawn you here to learn, as so many others have been drawn! Rumour of which deed has prompted you to seek me out? The tale of my triumph over the evil Giants of the North, in which I wrestled from them the Bauble of the Stout-hearted? Or perhaps the minstrels still sing of how I cleared an infestation of drakes from -- no?

'Well, if you want to become even a quarter of the tailor I am, you will need to get started on some deed that will win you great renown. After all, physical craftsmanship is only half of tailoring, and not even the important half! The other half depends on the reputation of the tailor!

'In any event, I will need to judge your work. Craft a drake-skin cuirass for me to examine. Only the hide of the largest and more dangerous drakes of Nan Amlug in the North Downs will suffice! Your tale must be well-earned for me to recognize you as a master tailor.'

Branda Rumble gave you her notes on the fashioning of a drake-skin cuirass.

After boasting of her accomplishments, Branda Rumble eventually asked you to craft a drake-skin cuirass for her to judge both its worth and your own.

'Well, this is fine work, [your name]. I hesitate to tell you this, but...it seems earlier I might have led you astray. It turns out that the quality of the finished product is rather more important than the reputation of the crafter. I have lost all of my customers to a young hobbit who has never slain a drake in her life! It seems the quality of her stitches is better, or some such nonsense.

'I don't think people understand what to look for in their leather goods.

'Keep up the good work, [your name]. At least I know that you have a reputation that is worth something! I recognize you to be a master tailor by all accounts!'

• The Drake Hide drops from random Drakes and Young Drakes in the Ram Duath portion of Angmar. If you take the western Worm filled path in Nan Amlug West, North Downs towards Angmar; any of the drakes there can drop one and one will drop very quickly.
