'The cave-claws are destroying the land with their rampant digging. Without some way to reduce their numbers, I fear the ground will collapse beneath our feet. Even the Dourhands are aware of the menace.

'If a few of the scourges were killed, it would prevent further damage.

'You will find the cave-claws around the caves and ruins of Thorin's Gate or inside the cave at Winterheight to the south of here.'

Background

The stone beneath Thorin's Gate is honeycombed by cave-claw burrows. If the damage continues, the entire area could be weakened enough to collapse in on itself.

Objective 1

Cave-claws are found near the buildings and caves to the east of Thorin's Gate and inside the Rockbelly Pit caves near Winterheight, south of the Elf-camp.

Orodlin/Selur asked you to defeat cave-claws found throughout Thorin's Gate.
