Quest Givers

As noted above, this is a raid quest. You will need a strong raid force to take Tol Ascarnen even with First Marshal Án assisting you.

First Marshal Án is just across the south bridge to Tol Ascarnen at the elf camp in Hoardale, Ettenmoors.

Note: This quest is only available when the the creeps hold Tol Ascarnen.

Bestowal dialogue

This aggression will not stand, [name]. Angmar has forces all over the Ettenmoors, and Tol Ascarnen is a symbol of hope to us all. I will not stand idly by and allow the forces of the Enemy to hold Tol Ascarnen.

Nor am I fool enough to assail the keep alone, but with a force of the Free Peoples, I shall stand beside you and storm the walls, taking them for our own once more.

Prove your valour, [name], in the form of the tokens we bestow at Glân Vraig and bring them to me. Should you give me enough, I will know you are a righteous [race] and stand beside you as we storm the walls of Tol Ascarnen.

Background

The host of Angmar swept into the central keep of the Ettenmoors and drove Captain-General Makan from Tol Ascarnen. This affront is more than an honourable dwarf can stand, and First Marshal Án will stop at nothing to take it back, though he wants assurances that the force he leads will stand beside him.

Objective 1

Bring 18 Tokens of Valour to First Marshal Án in Hoardale.

Once you bring the 18 tokens to An, he will await your "ready to attack" command and assist you in retaking the Tol Ascarnen from the creeps. Simply speak with him again and he will begin to charge towards the keep and fight his way to the Tyrants room to help retake the keep.

Objective 2

Capture Tol Ascarnen from the creeps.

If you fail to take Tol Ascarnen, you have failed the quest. If you retake the keep, even if An died, you can still complete the quest successfully. An will appear in the keep, beside the Captain General, when you take it and you can turn in the quest to get back 3 of the tokens you paid for his aid.

You must take the keep to get the 3 tokens back in the attack with An. If you do not, the quest will fail and you won't get the 3 tokens returned (of the 18 you gave him).
