Oils are used by Hunters to change their damage type on their ranged bow attacks. While simple oils are available at the trainer, it is recommended to purchase the more advanced recipes for a Scholar friend or alt character. Using fire damage against Troll-kind and light damage against The Dead is often times preferable to the normal Common Damage.
